Continuing to think about the district, it is inevitable that my mind wanders north of the railroad. First order of business is the new transit center RTC is working on.
I lamented the loss of the buildings on that site, but really thinking about it, it's not a huge loss. I love Concept A shown above. I don't know for sure which option they picked but it seems like they went the "Concept 3" route. They're all pretty nice looking alternatives.
Many might wonder if you can call East 4th St part of the ERD but I think you almost have to if you consider what would happen if all the industrial land along the river were freed up. A top priority of coming city government business should be seeing the transition of that land.
Finally, 395E 4TH ST should be demloished posthaste and replaced with a park. The Old NCO Depot is a hidden treasure and an instant asset in the right environment.
